An added bonus of traveling and visiting different places is that there is often time for sightseeing as well. The last day of my stay in Phoenix we drove two hundred miles north to the beautiful city of Sedona, where large red rocks rise up out of the red rocky ground. Beautiful.
We were able to walk off the trail and explore this section of the rocky land.
The grand, majestic rocks testify of God's greatness!
The night before I boarded the plane to come home, we were blessed to visit this lady's home. Visiting her and her husband was like stepping right into Mexico. She made flour tortillas right in front of us and then cooked them on the fire. They were the best tortillas I have ever had. The best. She made chicken with seasoning directly from Mexico with beans and rice on the side (the kind of beans and rice that only a true Mexican can prepare). We drank a sweet purplish drink made from a flower. We talked and laughed until it was dark. And then we talked and laughed some more. We played a few group games just before leaving to go home. Throughout the evening I sat facing the airport apparently because every few minutes I saw a plane fly into the sky. I couldn't help watching those planes, while sitting in that Mexican culture, and which that tomorrow would not come for a very, very long time.
