The Seminary and More

Most of the day on Friday is spent at the seminary.  Health class with Mrs. Stilwell is at noon, lunch is just after that and then we hang around the place playing soccer, volleyball and playing with the kids.  So now I will share some pictures that I've taken there.


One thing I love about the Stilwell's home is that everything is open. In the States, we must have screens on the doors and windows, but here, you don't. Actually, when you are in the laundry room, which is right next to the kitchen, you can look up right into the sky. It's really awesome! The other thing about their home is that they are actually staying in an two apartments...so you have to go outside to get to the next floor.

 For a little while, the drier was out and we had to hang our laundry on the roof - so ours resembled so many of the other Peruvian roofs. :)  It was fun, and one of my favorite chores is to hang up the laundry.   

Thursday evening is family night and they always make pizza. :) Jacob (in the background) is my new little brother.  He has taught me a lot about nerf guns and how to fight - yes, we've had many nerf fights! Yesterday he drew his sword across my neck...leaving a line of "blood" (red marker).  These are things that are quite foreign to me...

Sarah is their cousin who lives several blocks from the seminary.  She joins us on Friday afternoons as we play volleyball.

This is the dining hall - we will be helping to paint this in July.

These next pictures are of some of the kids at the seminary...there is usually quite a crowd when we are there.

 I see this girl very often.  She plays volleyball with us and is amazing for being so young.

This little guy was so much fun! He had Abi, Sarah and I throwing him the ball so he could do headers. 

This girl loves looking at pictures on the camera.  After showing her all of mine I took her to the teeter-totters where we played for a while.

The kids don't care if you can't talk to them.  As long as you play with them and have fun, they love you!
